Important Paintings & Contemporary Art
6:30PM 3 Abbey Street, Newton, Auckland
Art+Object is pleased to announce that our first major art auction of 2021 will take place on March 23rd and now invites consignments for the catalogue. 2020 represented an unprecedented year for all, bringing change and disruption to most businesses and the New Zealand art market was no exception.
Despite two of our three scheduled Important Paintings and Contemporary Art auctions being subjected to Covid-19 postponements, the 2020 year resulted in several highlights for the local art market and for the first time in our 14-year history, all three of our flagship Important Paintings and Contemporary Art auctions, resulted in sale totals in excess of two million dollars.
Our first sale of 2021 is likely to result in a continuation of this strong market trend. Major works by Séraphine Pick, Michael Parekōwhai, Dick Frizzell, Rita Angus, Michael Smither, Ian Scott, Ralph Hotere, Colin McCahon, Ann Robinson and Shane Cotton are early notable consignments.
