New Collectors Art

Art+Object's October 24 & 25 spring catalogue featured over 600 lots in total and the total sale receipts after the two auction nights of over $630 000 (inc. buyers' premium) was a highly satisfactory result.

The New Collectors Art auction got proceedings underway with a catalogue that featured works from the Untitled Collection and works from significant private collections. Much of the interest in the catalogue also centred on fifty works from the estate of the renowned artist Ted Dutch (1928 - 2008). A busy auction room and plenty of action on the phones ultimately saw a virtual clean sweep of the Dutch artworks (52 of 53 lots offered selling under the hammer) and a new artist record at auction being set. Strong sales were also recorded for works by Karl Maughan, Heather Straka, Neil Driver, Terry Stringer, Jeff Thomson and Gretchen Albrecht.
