The John Gow Collection of Historical New Zealand Photographs
As long-standing Director of Gow Langsford Gallery, John Gow has been responsible for representing the work and managing the careers of many of our most significant contemporary artists, including Max Gimblett, John Pule, Judy Millar, Shane Cotton and many more. Outside of the galley and in the private space of his central Auckland home he is a passionate collector of Māori antiques and historical New Zealand photographs, especially those which relate to Rotorua and the geothermal region.
Art+Object is delighted to include his private collection of historical and modern photographs including rare images by George Valentine, Troughton Clark, Josiah Martin, Eric Lee-Johnson and the Burton Brothers.
