Art+Object’s December 8th auction was the first of its type conducted with the new inhouse app and online bidding facility. The adoption of the new technology was felt immediately with a huge number of registered bidders choosing it over the traditional modes of bidding. Total sales achieved under the hammer were $382 502, with The Paul Hartigan Collection of Crown Lynn realising $31 447. 80 of 82 lots sold under the hammer with several new benchmarks set for New Zealand’s much loved and iconic, post-war slip cast pottery. The New Collectors sale included paintings from the Estate of John & June Ritchie, and the top price of the evening went to Ian Scott’s Lattice No. 101 which realized $16 815.
