Important Paintings and Sculpture

This catalogue demonstrated the importance of provenance with the superb works from the Colenso BBDO Collection selling extremely well. Major works which had been displayed at Colenso BBDO's Auckland HQ by Allen Maddox, Paul Dibble and Stephen Bambury attracted widespread collector interest. The sale was notable for 2 artist records being set on the one night for 2 classic examples of Paul Dibble's bronze sculpture. Excellent sales were also recorded for high quality examples of the work of Ann Robinson (whose Wide Bowl sold for a record price which stands to this day), Pat Hanly, Nigel Brown, Dick Frizzell, Colin McCahon and A. Lois White.
