Art+Object is delighted to report a sale total of $1 670 000 realized under the hammer in last night’s revised auction of Important Painting & Contemporary Art, originally scheduled for April 2nd. Under the circumstances, a surprisingly good crowd was in attendance for what was an excellent offering, competing against remote bidders through the internet, phone and absentees. Top price of the evening went to the fine 1963 Don Binney painting, Pipiwharauora over Matuku which realized $420 420.
