Important Paintings & Contemporary Art
6:00PM 3 Abbey Street, Auckland CBD, Auckland 1010
Art+Object announces the preparation of a quality catalogue of ‘Important Paintings and Contemporary Art’ and now invites further select entries.
Following on from the record-breaking sale of Michael Parekowhai’s A peak in Darien (2011) in the landmark ‘Collection of Adrian Burr and Peter Tatham’ auction in November last year, Art+Object announces the consignment of Kapa Haka (Officer Taumaha) which appeared alongside A peak in Darien in ‘On First Looking into Chapman’s Homer’ at the 54th Venice Biennale and which is also cast in bronze. The auction also includes a key work from Bill Hammond’s critically-lauded 1995 ‘Living Large’ series. Living Large No. 4 carries the distinguished provenance of coming from the Tim and Sherrah Francis collection, and was originally exhibited at Peter McLeavey Gallery.
Further highlights include major works by Gretchen Albrecht, Ralph Hotere, Ann Shelton, Fiona Pardington, Dave McCracken, Geoff Thornley, and Gordon Walters. Appraisal appointments in the months of May and June are now available for clients in Christchurch and Wellington.
The auction will be conducted live in our Newton saleroom with online bidding available via our online bidding platform or app.
