Minimal Opulence: The Gary Langsford and Vicki Vuleta Collection

Art+Object is pleased to report a current sale total of $879 990 for Tuesday evening’s auction of the Collection of Gary Langsford and Vicki Vuleta. With over 400 registered online bidders, the auction witnessed strong prices for local and international artists and designers. A new record price was set for the work of Grace Wright ($25 588) and top price of the evening went to the magnificent Katharina Grosse work, Untitled No. 1026 which bought $365 550, the highest price achieved for this artist’s work at auction outside of Europe or America. In the decorative arts component of the catalogue, new benchmarks were set for international designers in this country at auction, including for the Fornasetti ‘Palladiana’ cabinet, which was the top-priced lot of the evening selling for $36 555, and the Campana Brothers ‘Multi Chair’, which realised $30 462.
