Art and Objects final Rare Book Auction for 2024 will finish on Thursday 5th December commencing at 6.00pm.

Viewing will be held Sunday 1st December 11.00 am to 4.00pm

And Monday 2nd to Thursday 5th December 9:00am – 5:00pm

This is a large and varied sale and contains major rare books and documents from several collections.

Late entries include:

A complete cheque form, from Maungatautari Peeke Bank established by King Tawhaio in 1886. Only two other examples are known to exist.

The Maori New Testament ‘Ko te Kawenata Hou o to tatou Ariki te Kai Wakaora a Ihi Karaiti. Paihia: 1837’ inscribed on the endpaper "Presented to the Right Reverend George Augustus Lord Bishop of New Zealand by William Williams June 21. 1842".

The Auckland Times issue No 17, November 8th 1842, printed ‘in a Mangle’, and published by Henry Falwasser.

An important collection of works by Joseph Conrad includes signed editions and manuscript letters.

The Pacific and South Sea Islands feature largely with a collection of early Hawaiian histories.
