New Collectors Art

A+O's third New Collectors Sale for 2013 featured a fine mix of modern and contemporary New Zealand art and sculpture. A selection of works by Allan Maddox sold well with top price being recorded for lot 140 Grid No.55, a pared back work dating from 1976. Top price overall was achieved for Michael Smither’s Boats on the Harbour, New Plymouth which sold after much competition for $23 450. Works by Seraphine Pick, Don Driver, Pat France, Bill Reed, John Reynolds, Shane Cotton and Robert Jahnke all sold well and a sale total of over $290 000 was recorded.
