Art and Object’s mid-year Rare Book Auction is to be held on 16 August 2022.
We are offering the final part of the library of Richard Nunns (1945-2021). Nunns is known as an authority on and expert player of taongo pūoro, traditional Māori musical instruments. This assortment reflects his interest in music and features some of his instruments. Included is his extensive collection of literary works by and about Samuel Becket, James Joyce and other contemporary artists.
Another item of major interest is a rare copy of the de luxe, limited edition of ‘On Her Majesty’s Service’ signed by Ian Fleming and published by Jonathon Cape 1963, number 224 of 250 numbered copies.

- Sydney Parkinson – A Journal of a Voyage to the South Seas. 1773.
- David Collins – An Account of the English Colony in New South Wales. [1804]
- A photograph album featuring one of the last whaling expeditions of the C.A. Larsen to the Antarctic.
- An original Huia feather together with an 1888 lithograph of male and female huia birds.
- A set of W.L. Buller’s ‘A History of the Birds of New Zealand’ second edition 1888 and ‘Supplement to the Birds of New Zealand’, 1905.’
