The Newman Collection

The Newman Collection was a classic Kiwi original assembled over decades by jeweller and watchmaker Pat Newman. Like so many of his generation he was a superb maker and inventor of mechanical objects. The highlight of his enormous estate collection was a grouping of complex automata - mechanical stage pieces depicting theatrical and biblical subjects with all parts moving powered by complex gears.
