The unprecedented attention which the sale of the Paris collection attracted in both the media and among collectors translated to a phenomenal evening in which all manner of New Zealand art records were broken. Around 250 collectors battled it out in the saleroom as numerous artist benchmark prices were re-written. With a sale total from evening one at a massive four million dollars, a strong second evening sale tonight could make this auction the highest grossing art auction ever in this country.
