Art+Object are delighted to report a sale total of $2 000 000, realised under the hammer from last night's auction of part two of The Les and Milly Paris Collection. Clearance rates were high and close to 100% sales by value was achieved with strength displayed throughout the lower, mid and top end of the market. The previous record price for a Philip Clairmont was more than quadrupled when his magnificent Scarred Couch II was hammered down for $276 000 ($331 530) against an estimate of $160 000 - $240 000. The record price for a Tony Fomison was also bettered by nearly $200 000 when Ah South Island, Your Music Remembers Me made $321 000 hammer ($385 585) against $180 000 - $250 000.
