Art+Object's upcoming auction catalogue of Modernism in New Zealand will be published this week, and available to view online and in hard form in the coming days. The catalogue will be on view from Thursday 15 May at 3 Abbey Street in Newton, and the auction will take place on Wednesday 21 May at 6:30pm.
In the meantime, browse through highlights from our Important Paintings and Contemporary Art auction in early April, which included a new record price for Milan Mrkusich's work at auction as well as impressive sales for work by Bill Hammond, Ralph Hotere, Michael Illingworth, and Colin McCahon. With a sale total of 1.8 million dollars the market for quality and well-provenanced art in this country continues to rise steadily, as does Art+Object's market share with the auction total being the highest achieved across the round of Autumn art auctions.
Consignments are now invited for Art+Object's next Important Paintings and Contemporary Art auction catalogue in August 2014.
